aviance Ghana Limited is a Ghanaian registered Limited liability Company which was founded in 1990 when the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) embarked on a project to improve the general infrastructure at Kotoka International Airport (KIA). Included in the projects was the construction of a new Freight Terminal with facilities adequate enough to match International Standards. The project, commenced in 1991, and was completed in 1994.
Today the cargo warehouse is very different, having been totally refurbished as part of our vision for the Gateway Project. The warehouse has been completely refitted to provide all of our customers with a secure environment patrolled by Magnum Force Security under a separate contract with aviance Ghana that places a high degree of emphasis on security and our adherence to GCAA standards, IATA standards and ICAO security regulations and recommendations. aviance Ghana has incorporated a proprietary storage and stacking system which has more than doubled the number of storage positions allowing for the future growth and expansion of the Import sector.
Through these and other innovative approaches and incentive schemes we have worked closely with a number of airlines and General Service Agents to promote KIA as a gateway to West Africa. aviance Ghana spearheaded the initial works which promoted GC Net and has greatly reduced customs clearance times for the importation of all cargo.
The aviance Ghana corporate policy identified training as being crucial to product delivery and has received GCAA approval for the certification from IATA for Dangerous Goods Training. aviance Ghana provides extensive training throughout the year, covering a range of different courses, designed to broaden employee experience and product delivery.
aviance Ghana has in the period in which it has operated invested in sophisticated state of the art equipment to ensure it provides the best service in the sub-region. Within the space of 11 years, it has committed over $7 million US Dollars to equipment and improvements to demonstrate its commitment to the aspirations of the Airport Authority and its dream of realising the Gateway Project.
