Aviance Ghana Walks for Breast Cancer Awareness in Asante Mampong

On 10 October 2026, Aviance Ghana joined our partner, Delta Air Lines, for the Breast Care International (BCI) Walk for the Cure in Asante Mampong. The event brought together communities, organisations and supporters to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage early detection.
Our delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer Richard Backhouse, alongside our Director of Operations, General Manager and colleagues from our Kumasi operations. Management and staff walked together in support of a cause that affects families and communities across Ghana.

The walk took breast cancer awareness into the community, with participants carrying messages of solidarity and support through Asante Mampong. It was followed by a gathering and speeches that reinforced the purpose of the day: encouraging awareness and standing with those affected by the disease.
We salute BCI founder, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, for her dedication to this cause and her continued work in bringing communities together. Events such as the Walk for the Cure help keep breast cancer in public discussion and encourage conversations that should continue beyond October.
For Aviance Ghana, participating alongside Delta Air Lines was an opportunity to support a shared community cause beyond our daily work in aviation. The involvement of our Kumasi colleagues made the occasion particularly meaningful, bringing our local team and visiting management together with a common purpose.

We thank Delta Air Lines for the invitation, the BCI team for organising the event, and our colleagues who participated. We were proud to walk alongside the wider community in support of awareness, early detection and everyone facing the breast cancer journey.
Stronger Together, in service and in our communities.
